Position Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Scientist with a background in machine learning, statistics, and data science to join our Pharmacology team in London UK or West Point PA. In this role, you will collaborate with discovery teams and other data science functions to advance therapeutic programs in Immunology, Neuroscience, and Infectious Diseases/Vaccines, and to build computational pipelines to optimize data utilization. Key Responsibilities
Design statistically sound experiments in collaboration with pharmacologists and analyze data to support discovery programs.
Develop data pipelines to integrate and analyze diverse biological data sources, aiding target identification and therapeutic profiling.
Create data visualization tools to support decision-making and resource management.
Analyze structured and unstructured data to inform translational strategies.
Participate in developing active learning approaches for drug discovery.
Work with automation engineers to develop infrastructure for data collection from lab instrumentation.
Identify and validate new technologies to enhance efficiency and facilitate clinical translation.
Collaborate across teams to build data science infrastructure and guide data transformation processes.
Communicate analyses and strategies effectively to stakeholders and management.
Upskill lab scientists in computational approaches to foster a data-driven culture.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Data Science, Biostatistics, Computational Biology/Chemistry, or a related field; or a Master’s with relevant experience.
Understanding of pharmacology experiments and statistical design.
Background in statistics and machine learning.
Experience with databases, scripting, programming, and analysis software (SQL, Python, R, Prism).
Ability to work with diverse data modalities and interpret integrated data.
Experience in drug discovery programs from lead identification to preclinical candidate.
Effective communication skills for a broad range of stakeholders.
Adaptability to changing priorities and a passion for innovation.
