Principle duties/requirements Client service: - Leads,builds and maintains excellent relationships with clients andprovides them ongoing consultation and counsel on a peer-to-peerbasis. - Develops strong and effective scientific, creative andcommercial strategies and programmes in service of clientobjectives. Always regards the client’s challenges as unique, nevergeneric, and a shared journey between them and Arc BioCommunications. - Develops robust and relevant solutions which arealways rigorous and evidence-based. - Has a keen focus on producingclient-ready work of the highest standard, in an efficient andtimely manner. - Builds enduring and successful relationships withcolleagues, clients and suppliers. - Maintains high level ofprofessionalism and competence in all client communications. -Develops high quality business proposals for both new and existingclients. - Works consistently to grow existing accounts organicallythrough high quality work and ongoing discussions with clients. -Networks consistently outside of Arc Bio, attending industry eventsand meetings bringing in new business leads and generallyrepresenting Arc Bio. - Generates and drives new businessopportunities for both existing and new clients. ProjectManagement: - Demonstrates system, process, time managementdevelopment and accurate project planning. - Produces accurate costestimates and controls budgets efficiently and carefully whilstkeeping clients and team fully informed of eventual or possibleoverspends. - Ensures finances and budgets are managed in line withagency procedures and that expenditures are explained and justifiedto the client before sign-off is obtained. - Establishes theimportance of regulatory and compliance measures and minimisesrisk. - Sets the highest standards with respect to quality,original, strong strategic - thinking and detail accuracy at alltimes. - Is able to use all in-house software and platformscompetently. Leadership: - Effectively delegates and prioritisesfor project teams, providing direction to ensure delivery whilstproviding ownership. - Demonstrates ability to develop others andprovide direction and feedback tailored to the skill level of teammembers. - Embraces and actions team and peer feedback as a driverfor change. - Generates buy-in, listens openly to colleagues,recognises contributions and ensures consistency of own and teamdecisions. - Takes accountability for their team and outcomes,encouraging their team to do the same, inspires and fosters teamcommitment. - Drives communication between teams and the client. -Supports, encourages and challenges colleagues in a constructiveand supportive way. Communication and impact: - Presents withconfidence and conviction to clients at all times. - Demonstratesthe ability to influence, negotiate and overcome objections fromsenior stakeholders. - Effectively adapts communication style tosuit different audiences and to gain buy in. - Demonstrates abilityto develop others and provide direction and feedback tailored toskill level of team members. - Skilled at giving upward feedback tointernal and external stakeholders - Technical ability and skills(ABC team members should be ready to communicate on these with bothknowledge and authority-strong command of at least three of theseis required at the Senior Consultant level) Industry: - Keeps up todate with factors influencing the pharma and biotech sectors(including M&A activity, pharma corporate innovation strategyand the various industry head- and tail-winds). - Understands themechanics underpinning industry sector activities and has acompetent knowledge of the basics of business e.g. factorsinfluencing company valuations, fundamental financial definitionsand mechanisms - Engages in industry “scanning” and maintains astrong current knowledge of industry opportunities and developmentsand our clients’ operating environment. Uses these findings to drawconclusions, formulate actions and exploit opportunities relevantto the Arc Bio business. Aware of new and important productlaunches, pivotal clinical studies, new guidance, legislation andpolicies of relevance. Scientific: - Has a strong working knowledgeof the science covering our clients’ areas of focus. - Has anongoing commitment to deepening and expanding knowledge inmodalities, modes of action, epidemiology, clinical trial designand anything else that may be relevant to strategic planning andadvice, both from the point of view of the client and theircompetitor environment. - In chosen areas of scientific specialism,is capable of constructively challenging client thinking on apeer-to-peer level, producing novel scientific strategic points ofview to help clients view potential solutions from new angles whereappropriate and useful. - Keeps aware of latest announcementscoming out of key congresses, key experts in the field, and anyoverall, rapidly-evolving trends (such as genomics, AI, CRISPR orthe application of big data) and how these might feed intoscientific strategy recommendations to the client. Strategy: - Canconfidently discuss strategy in reference to client goals andobjectives. - Understands theoretical approaches and models used instrategy consulting. - Able to integrate the relevant theories intoa given client challenge. Is a keen student of the evolvingstrategic environment (including new tools and models, and theirstrengths and limitations). Takes increasing roles in strategicdevelopment and strategic workshop facilitation as their careerdevelops. Marketing and communications: - Understands thefundamental principles of healthcare marketing and communications,with a strong capability in public relations, med ed, andscientific communications. Seeks to learn more about social,digital, advertising and brand strategy. - Can demonstrate anunderstanding of the theory and application of new theories andtools in marketing (e.g. behaviour change, AI/big data, newprinciples of neuroscience, iconography and its impact, etc.) -Understands means of evaluation and KPIs across marketing channels.- Has a good grasp of not only guidelines, but also the ethics ofgood marketing practice in healthcare.
