Senior Biosecurity Specialist – Plant Healthy Coordinator

to lead our efforts in safeguarding the RHS’s gardens and green spaces. As the UK’s leading gardening charity, the RHS is committed to promoting excellence in horticulture and protecting plant biodiversity. In this pivotal role, you’ll drive the implementation of the Plant Healthy Certification Scheme across RHS sites, helping us meet our sustainability goals (six plant health principlesand RHS Sustainability Strategy / RHS ) and maintain our reputation as a leader in plant science and biosecurity.
What You’ll Be Doing
Lead Plant Healthy Initiatives : Coordinate risk assessments, update plant health protocols, and support RHS teams in achieving and maintaining certification.
Support Garden Biosecurity : Deliver training, monitor plant health, and maintain high standards at our plant reception units.
Be a Trusted Advisor : Provide expert advice on pest and disease management to RHS staff, students, and members.
Represent the RHS : Stay ahead of emerging threats, contribute to national plant health discussions, and raise the profile of RHS Science.
Mentor and Educate : Support students, volunteers, and early-career scientists, and contribute to RHS education and public engagement programmes.
