Are you a Senior Biomedical Scientist with a specialist interest in Histology?

We are looking for a Biomedical Scientist to join a Histology team based in their private laboratories. You will be able to demonstrate your post-HCPC registration experience in Histology and participate in the production of histology sections for microscopic examination which includes biopsy/specimen transfer, tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, special stains, microscopy and frozen sections.

    Requirements

  • BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent.

  • HCPC registered.

  • Working at a Senior/Band 7 level.

  • Experience in Histology is essential.

  • Completed IBMS specialist portfolio.

  • MSc is desirable.

    Responsibilities

  • Practice and maintain HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist.

  • Following laboratory policies and procedures inline with ISO 15189 and UKAS accreditation.

  • Conduct unsupervised routine and complex investigations and analysis if tissue samples.

  • Carry out tasks relating to the day to day organisation and delivery of the pathology services.

  • Liaising with Pathologists for the introduction and development of new techniques.

  • Assist the Service Lead in with departmental policies and procedures to ensure efficient delivery of Histology services.

  • Assist the Service Lead with strategies for training and development of all staff.
