Summary of the Role

As a Senior Application Scientist at Lhasa Limited, you will play a crucial role in bridging scientific knowledge with practical application. In this full-time position, you’ll be at the forefront of driving the development of our products (solutions), through understanding and addressing our members’ needs. By fostering strong relationships with our members and internal teams, you’ll support Lhasa in developing cutting-edge software solutions, which solve real-world chemical safety assessment problems. Playing a leading role by working with our scientists and delivery team to develop our solutions. Reports to the Director of Applied Sciences or their nominee.

Main Responsibilities

  • Build strong, lasting relationships with our members and become a trusted scientific expert in the application of our solutions
  • Develop a solid understanding of all Lhasa solutions and how they are applied across various industries
  • Identify opportunities to support solution development by gathering data and insights that enable our teams to create real value for members and regulators
  • Lead the Application Science work within a solution team
  • Contribute to solution strategy and take ownership of external solution releases
  • Prioritise member feedback and ensure it is reflected in solution development
  • Create training materials that clearly explain how to use our solutions
  • Support the promotion of our solutions and their benefits
  • Provide advanced technical support and lead on complex member queries
  • Coordinate and lead member consortiums around specific solutions
  • Communicate the value of ourin-silicosolutions through scientific publications, conference presentations, and posters
  • Provide leadership within the organisation by mentoring colleagues, managing when required, and helping to improve how we work


About You

  • You hold a Master’s or PhD in a chemistry or toxicology related discipline
  • You bring at least 3 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry with a strong background in toxicology, metabolism, degradation or organic chemistry
  • Understanding of industry workflows and are familiar with global regulations such as ICH Q3A to Q3E, ICH M7 and RDC 53
  • You have extensive experience usingin-silicotools in pharmaceutical or related industries
  • You are an excellent scientific communicator and comfortable with both presenting your ideas and receiving feedback
  • You are proactive, solution focused and confident working independently as well as in a team
  • You have strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a sensitivity to working across cultures
  • You are open to regular international travel, around 40 percent of the time
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as required to support the team and business objectives

Desirable but not essential

  • Previous experience in line management
  • Experience in writing or submitting regulatory dossiers or risk assessments
