Our Finance team is looking for a new talent, starting at the earliest possible time as Senior Accountant (m/f/d) being responsible for our entities in UK and France.

office based in Leipzig (Germany), Abingdon (UK) or Takeley (UK)

How You’ll Add Value…

Join the Azenta Finance team as a Senior Accountant (m/f/d) for our French and British Multiomics Business, working with a global team of professionals to support the timely, accurate and insightful preparation of monthly reporting, as well as support annual audits and quarterly reviews and support internal control and compliance initiatives. You will also be responsible for local regulatory financial reporting requirements.

You’ll work with a global team and will be exposed to senior management as you develop knowledge about key business issues and support new initiatives. Grow personally and professionally while building a network within the life sciences industry!

This position can be based in Leipzig (Germany), Abingdon (UK) or Takeley (UK).

And will report to the Divisional Controller.

What You’ll Do…



Collaborate with other members of the Finance Team to prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial results, along with insightful analysis. This includes the preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and monthly intercompany tie outs, the oversight of any unusual transactions, as well as reporting provided to help senior management understand the underlying business drivers.

Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS.

Understand the balance sheet & income statement impacts of every transaction to challenge or propose accounting adjustment entries, when relevant.

*

Coordinate all necessary supporting documentation for monthly accruals and prepayments as well as transacting them in the ERP. Prepare Balance Sheet reviews and flux analyses.

*

Ensure the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations within the company deadlines and with proper supporting documentation. Ensure performance of internal controls, including SOX compliance. Ensure all internal policies and procedures are consistently followed

Coordinate with the lab manager on the monthly inventory counts and perform related inventory account reconciliations. Support the preparation of statutory accounts and tax returns as well as any other local government requirements.

Support audits (internal & external) including coordination of client deliverables.

*

Key user for specific finance systems including maintenance of respective approval matrix, training and support of department users and documentation. Ensure accounting documentation (Guidelines, SOP) are complete and up to date.

Drive a culture of continuous improvement.

*

Collaborate with the Global Finance Team to standardize and streamline recurring processes and data collection activities, establishing best practices that improve efficiency, and optimize the use of technology.

Assist in the setup and/ or maintenance of processes, procedures and controls that properly capture, track and report financial results, in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley, U.S. GAAP and company policies. Assist with projects in various capacities from the execution of tasks on larger cross functional projects to project management activities on smaller projects.

What You`ll Bring…

*

University´s degree in finance or accounting or successfully completed vocational training with a focus on finance and accounting.

*

Higher degree in business administration or equivalent finance specific degree, CPA/ACCA or equivalent. MBA would be a benefit.

*

Several years of relevant professional experience in a similar role is required. Profound previous professional work experience in finance, preferably working with (or in) multinational manufacturing company (life sciences preferred), Big 4 experience is a plus.

*

Ability to understand, review and explain financial results and business drivers Excellent technical financial skills. Ability to understand the balance sheet & income statement impacts of every transaction and to challenge or propose material accounting judgment entries, when relevant.

*

US GAAP and SOX experience. Excellent knowledge of IFRS. French GAAP experience highly desired.

*

Experience with major ERP (NetSuite preferred) and reporting systems (One Stream is a plus).

*

Focus on continuous improvement in areas of responsibility to drive transition to “best in class” finance organization. Detail-oriented with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, or as a team member.

Strong analytical & interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing to all levels within the organization. Ability to work under pressure and with multiple deadlines.

A sense of urgency and self-motivation, with a personal commitment to meeting deadlines. Ability to strategically work and perform in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment. Strong attention to detail, ability to communicate complex information efficiently, accurately, and succinctly.

Self-starter with ability to work independently and as a collaborative member of a team. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel. Strong communication skills (written and oral) in English and French are mandatory. Good communication skills in German would be a benefit.
