The Company

We are currently working with a leading publishing group in Life Sciences who have been going for almost 30 years. They publish in over 10 journals in various therapeutic areas and the members of the editorial board are world-renowned scientists. Their aim is to enable scientific communication in a clear and concise manner, striving to meet deadlines and goals and provide prompt publication of original high-quality work.

They are currently looking for a Life Science graduate to join their expanding team in a Scientific Copy Editor position. They are able to offer hybrid working, a competitive salary and excellent benefits. There is training provided in copy-editing and opportunities for further career development.

The Role

The role involves language and copy-editing scientific and technical manuscripts with excellent attention to detail and time management skills. Responsibilities include:


  • Performing first-round edits of articles, ensuring production of well-written and factually correct articles
  • Copy-editing of manuscripts for language and readability, in-house style training is provided
  • Checking factual content and raising queries with managing editor when needed
  • Assessing authors responses to edits and comments
  • Once experienced, performing second round edits


Job Requirements:

  • A 2:1 or above in a Biological / Biomedical Science related degree
  • Strong computer skills
  • Excellent level of written English, attention to detail and interpersonal skills
  • Motivated and resourceful and takes pride in a job done well
