What this role entails
As aResearch Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting bioprocess development by ensuring high-quality cell culture operations. You will provide technical support through laboratory organisation, training new team members, performing experimental procedures, and analysing results.

With relevant experience and knowledge in the project's research area, you will actively contribute as part of the technical team, working under the guidance of Project Managers to help achieve the overall objectives. As the projects progress, you will be expected to work increasingly independently, contributing to the design and execution of experiments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct seed train cell expansion to support bioreactor operations.
- Act as a subject matter expert for specific techniques and lab equipment operation and maintenance.
- Maintain and improve cell culture facilities, ensuring optimal productivity and quality.
- Oversee stock control of cell culture and analysis consumables.
- Collaborate with technical colleagues to uphold high standards in the lab.

Objectives
- Support bioprocess development work by ensuring sufficient seed train production volumes for bioreactor operations.
- Maintain the company's cell bank, and stock control of cell culture and analysis consumables to improve quality and productivity.
- Contribute to process improvement and lab productivity through efficient stock and equipment management.

Experience
Significant experience working in biological R&D or manufacturing, including experience with maintenance and troubleshooting specialist laboratory equipment.

Delivering for an organisation
Proven ability to manage day-to-day lab operations and ensure smooth functionality of equipment or facilities.


Team working
Demonstrable ability to work with a diverse range of people, working towards a common goal in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Ability to 'get to the bottom of' what a colleague really needs.

Technical Expertise
Essential:Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and analysis
Preferred:Undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience) in Developmental biology
Desirable:Experience in operating and supporting bioreactors
