The Industry Futures team within Autodesk Research is dedicated to exploring cutting-edge technologies and methodologies that will shape the future of design and manufacturing. We are at the forefront of innovation, leveraging advancements in AI to develop new design workflows, simulations, and digital twins. Join us in pioneering the next generation of design tools and methodologies.

Responsibilities: As a Principal Research Scientist in the Industry Futures team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of design through AI. Your responsibilities will include:

Applying your extensive experience in design and AI to create innovative design workflows. Incorporating simulations and digital twins into design processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Conducting thorough investigations to explore new methodologies and technologies. Leading and mentoring junior researchers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Collaborating with a diverse range of engineers and scientists across Autodesk. Writing AI-related code in Python or equivalent programming languages to develop and test new concepts. Presenting your findings to both internal stakeholders and external audiences, showcasing the impact of your research.

Qualifications:

Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or other design and manufacturing-specific fields), Data Science, or related fields. Strong foundation in engineering, complemented by specialisation in AI. 8+ years of experience in the field of engineering. Proficiency in Python or equivalent programming languages. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to conduct independent research and lead projects. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD or EngD in a related field. Experience in design, simulation and digital twins. Publications in reputable journals or conferences on topics related to AI and design.
