Research and Development (R&D) Manager

We are seeking an experienced and innovative R&D Manager to lead our research and development team. In this role, you will oversee the design, development and implementation of new products, technologies, or processes, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.

The ideal candidate will need strong technical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for driving innovation from concept to commercialisation.

You will bring project management discipline to the development team ensuring they make the best of their technical expertise, are clear on priorities, effective in stakeholder management, balancing the tension between delivering growth projects and sustaining the compliance and efficiency of the existing portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

As a strong people manager and coach you put people at the centre of the operation. You act with integrity at all times and recognise that sustainability is driven through strong leadership aligned to a committed support to the teams and the primary process.

  1. Using your excellent people management and coaching skills to support your team in delivering a busy agenda, whilst keeping the business up to date with progress through KPIs and Roadmaps

  2. Influencing senior stakeholders internally and externally through clear and concise communication of technically complex challenges and outcomes including recommendations that challenge the status quo

  3. Applying critical thinking, scientific understanding, technical foresight and thought leadership to deliver results in complex, ambiguous situations

  4. Be the companies Regulatory lead, working alongside external partners to advise the best routes through the regulatory landscape. Monitor changes to the regulatory environment and action changes where required to ensure company compliance. Guide the company on medicines regulations for new licensed products.

  5. Ensure that all products produced & developed comply with MDLZ MEU and where appropriate Pharmaceutical GMP product specifications.

  6. Gatekeeper in the Project gate process, assuring development standards are met, effective allocation of resource to business priorities and clear stakeholder management.

  7. Demonstrate and deliver strong financial control, compliance and improvement, through a proactive approach with regards to the total costs of product development and maintenance. Adherence to budget figures, tracking and reporting deviations will form a part of the role and your focus will ensure activities are resourced in the most cost-effective way.
