Overview:
We are seeking an accomplished and strategic legal professional to join our AME Regional Legal team as

Regional Counsel, Americas & Europe . This is a critical leadership role responsible for delivering senior-level legal counsel that enables commercial growth, business transformation, and effective risk management across diverse regulatory environments in the AME region.
The successful candidate will work in close partnership with the Senior Regional Counsel and Regional General Counsel to implement Group legal initiatives, embed governance frameworks, and ensure legal alignment across markets and functions.

Key Responsibilities:
Execute AME’s regional legal strategy to support commercial growth and business transformation.
Provide senior-level legal advice on complex regulatory, commercial, and governance matters.
Identify and mitigate legal and reputational risks to ensure long-term business sustainability.
Lead regional legal initiatives across DRBUs and End Markets, ensuring consistent implementation.
Oversee high-value legal matters, including marketing compliance and commercial risk management.
Drive adoption of global legal best practices across AME to enhance efficiency and consistency.
Conduct regulatory risk assessments and respond to evolving legal requirements.
Collaborate with CORA to develop advocacy strategies that protect business interests.
Advise on legal issues related to product compliance, advertising, and market access.
Support corporate governance processes in line with Group standards.
Manage regional litigation and internal investigations to safeguard corporate integrity.
Lead compliance initiatives in competition law, anti-bribery, and data protection (e.g., GDPR).
Engage with senior business stakeholders to embed legal guidance into strategic decisions.
Manage external counsel to ensure high-quality, cost-effective legal support.
Represent AME in global legal forums, contributing regional insights to Group legal strategy.

Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Essential:
Senior qualified lawyer with a strong background in regulatory, commercial, and corporate law.
Demonstrated leadership in managing complex, high-impact legal projects in a multinational setting.
Strong influencing skills with the ability to advise executive stakeholders and shape legal outcomes.
Commercially astute, pragmatic, and able to operate effectively under pressure.
Strategic thinker with a solution-oriented mindset and deep understanding of legal risk.
Expertise in compliance and governance, particularly in highly regulated industries such as FMCG, pharmaceuticals, or similar sectors.
Highly Advantageous:
Experience with cross-border regulatory frameworks within the Americas and Europe.
Familiarity with litigation strategy, internal investigations, and regulatory enforcement processes.
Cross-Functional and External Collaboration:
Proven ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders across functions, including Marketing, Operations, HR, CORA, Finance, and Tax.
Experienced in working with Central Legal Teams (Corporate, Compliance, IP, Company Secretariat, Litigation).
Effective engagement with external legal advisers and third-party providers.
Comfortable operating in a matrixed, multicultural environment and liaising with counterparts in other regions, such as APMEA, to ensure global alignment.
