Role overview

We are looking for Regional Category Manager, CAPEX and MRO will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies for Capital Expenditures (CAPEX) and Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) within the designated region. This role ensures cost efficiency, supplier performance, and risk mitigation while aligning with business needs and global procurement objectives.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop and implement CAPEX & MRO category strategies in alignment with business objectives and regional procurement goals.
  • Conduct market analysis, supplier benchmarking, and cost modeling to drive competitive advantages.
  • Ensure procurement activities align with budgetary constraints and investment priorities.
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and finance teams to optimize CAPEX investments and MRO supply chain reliability.
  • Operate within the 8 Step Engineering process for large CAPEX projects
  • Lead contract negotiations and supplier selection for CAPEX projects and MRO service agreements.
  • Develop and maintain supplier relationships to drive performance, innovation, and risk mitigation.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, KPIs, and service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure supplier quality, cost-effectiveness, and on-time delivery.
  • Drive cost savings and procurement efficiencies through strategic sourcing and demand management.
  • Monitor and report on category spend, total cost of ownership (TCO), and financial performance.
  • Identify and implement risk mitigation strategies for supplier disruptions and market fluctuations.
  • Support capital investment projects with procurement insights and cost-benefit analysis.
  • Act as a business partner to regional engineering, operations, and finance teams.
  • Support plant operations by ensuring availability of critical MRO supplies and minimizing downtime risks.
  • Align with global procurement teams to ensure category strategy consistency and leverage global synergies.
  • Work closely with sustainability teams to incorporate ESG and supplier diversity initiatives into CAPEX & MRO sourcing.
  • Utilize e-procurement platforms (SAP Ariba, Coupa, or similar) to enhance sourcing efficiency.
  • Maintain relevant price lists for SAP outline agreements and catalogues, as well as, and category cards and preferred suppliers for Ariba Guided Sourcing.
  • Analyze procurement data to identify trends, opportunities, and process improvements.
  • Implement best practices in supplier performance management and procurement governance.

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of procurement experience with a focus on CAPEX, MRO, or Indirect Procurement.
  • Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
  • Experience in capital-intensive industries such as Manufacturing, FMCG, Pharmaceuticals, or Automotive.
  • Proven ability to manage multi-country procurement activities within a regional scope.
  • Understanding of total cost of ownership (TCO), cost modeling, and risk management.
  • Proficiency in procurement systems (SAP Ariba, Coupa, or similar) and data-driven decision-making. Experience working in multi-country, cross-functional procurement environments.

Education:

  • A higher education in Procurement or equivalent to a Master degree or similar.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English; additional European languages (French, German, Spanish, or Italian) are a plus.
