This Position reports to:
Cluster Large Pursuits Sales Team Lead

We are looking for a highly motivated and results-driven Pursuit Sales Manager to lead our pursuit sales efforts in the Energy Transition markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of achieving sales targets. This role involves supporting generation of sales strategies for the Energy Transition markets in the UK and Ireland and ensuring customer satisfaction to drive business growth.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

  • Work model: hybrid from our St Neots or Warrington locations {#LI-hybrid}

  • Lead large project Sales pursuits in the Automation, Electrical, Telecommunications and/or Digital
    portfolio, as capture team lead focused on the Energy Transition Industries
  • Own pursuits from early engagement through to Order placement and handover to Operations. This can include coordinating numerous functions not limited to Bid Management, Commercial Management and Technical Advisory as part of a pursuit team.
  • Understand ABB's (and third parties) relevant technology portfolio in the industries for which the project
    pursuits exist, to aid development of the sales strategy and value propositions.
  • Own the Orders and Orders GM forecasting for the owned project pursuits.
  • Work collaboratively with the Market & Account Development and Studies functions within Sales, as the
    enablers and positioners for large project pursuits you will manage.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations to align delivery capability and undertake high quality handover of
    won projects, in tandem with project pursuit development
  • Position Energy Industries in the external marketplace as a leader in the target industries under your remit, including participating in industry events to position ABB as a thought leader, where appropriate to your individual pursuits.
  • Work collaboratively with other elements of the ABB team, including Global functions e.g. Global and
    Strategic Account Managers, Technology & Product Management, Industry Business Managers etc. to
    win.
  • Collaborate with the wider UK sales team to fully understand customer requirements and provide pre-
    sales technical assistance, where appropriate.]

    Qualifications for the Role

    • Tertiary Qualification in Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical/Automation, and/or a related field.

    • Proven experience in a Strategic Sales role, within the Energy Industry market sectors.

    • Previous experience in a customer-facing solutions portfolio sales with the understanding of customer procurement processes

    • Strong multi-industry background with the ability to understand and relate to customer challenges and
    experiences

    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

    • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain customer relationships.

    • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and a results-oriented mindset.

    • Ability to travel as required to meet with customers and attend industry events
