Job Overview
We are seeking a results-driven Purchasing Manager – Strategic Sourcing to lead procurement initiatives that align with our organizational goals. This individual contributor role is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive cost efficiencies, mitigate risks, and ensure supply continuity. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a strategic mindset, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners to achieve long-term procurement objectives.

Essential Functions

  • Drive cost savings initiatives through strategic sourcing, vendor consolidation, and competitive tendering to deliver measurable financial value to IQVIA Laboratories.

  • Analyze vendor spend and category trends to identify high-impact sourcing opportunities and implement strategies that reduce total cost of ownership.

  • Lead vendor negotiations to secure favorable pricing, terms, and service levels while maintaining quality and compliance standards.

  • Collaborate with laboratory stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with operational needs, ensuring procurement decisions support business goals and timelines.

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, risk, and innovation across key spend categories.

  • Track and report savings performance, providing transparency and accountability to internal stakeholders and leadership.

  • Occasional travel to site is required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Life Sciences, or a related field (Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, or APICS preferred).

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement or strategic sourcing, with a strong focus on cost savings and value delivery.

  • In-depth knowledge of clinical laboratory categories, including reagents, consumables, instrumentation, reference lab services, and equipment maintenance.

  • Demonstrated success in delivering measurable cost savings through vendor negotiations, tendering, and strategic sourcing initiatives.

  • Strong analytical and financial skills, with the ability to interpret complex spend data and develop actionable sourcing strategies.

  • Experience working in regulated environments (e.g., GxP, ISO 15189, CLIA) and understanding of compliance requirements in laboratory operations.

  • Proficiency in procurement systems and advanced Excel or data analysis tools.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
