Are you an experience proposal engineer looking to work for a company that has a fantastic track record for growth?

We are seeking a Proposals Engineer to join an industry leading company that can offer incredible job security & a fantastic work culture. You will play a pivotal role in the development of accurate & competitive proposals for packaged plant room solutions and modular off-site systems.

You will serve as a key liaison between clients, internal departments, and the sales team, ensuring that every proposal is aligned with client expectations and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review client tender documents and specifications to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineering, design, procurement, and production teams to collect relevant data.
  • Produce comprehensive technical and commercial proposals, including engineering calculations, material specs, and design drawings.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the proposal phase.
  • Lead pre-bid and post-bid meetings to clarify project requirements and discuss technical solutions.
  • Generate accurate cost estimates, factoring in materials, labour, manufacturing, and third-party services.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities through alternative solutions that meet client and compliance standards.
  • Ensure all proposals adhere to internal and client-specific standards, including HSE regulations.
  • Align closely with sales and business development to ensure proposal strategies match client and company objectives.
  • Present proposal overviews to senior management, highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommendations.

Qualifications & Skills

  • HNC in Building Services Engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Understanding of UK tendering processes and contractual frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with estimation tools.
  • Ability to produce AutoCAD sketches for spatial planning and cost estimation.
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
