Quotient Therapeutics, Inc. is a privately held, early-stage company developing a novel genomics platform and therapeutics for diseases with a large unmet need.

Position Summary:

Quotient Tx is seeking a talented and highly motivated Principal Scientist in Structural Biology with relevant drug discovery experience to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage key expertise in structural biology to provide critical insights into the molecular mechanisms of target proteins and their complexes to support biology validation, hit finding campaigns, and drug discovery. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams and scientists to rapidly advance drug discovery programs to IND and early clinical studies. They will be comfortable working in and contributing to a highly dynamic and cross-functional team environment. The ideal candidate must be independent, open-minded, goal-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge of structural biology, biophysics, and protein sciences to support drug discovery programs.
  • Assess and interpret structural and biophysical data from techniques such as X-ray crystallography, cryo-EM, NMR, and biophysical assays.
  • Support protein expression, purification, and characterization efforts through data analysis and external collaborations.
  • Conduct literature research to evaluate target structure, druggability, and mechanism of action.
  • Summarize and present key findings to guide target assessment, lead finding, and optimization.
  • Work with CROs on structural biology, biophysics, and protein sciences projects, ensuring data quality and alignment with program objectives.
  • Collaborate with medicinal chemistry, computational chemistry, and biology teams to integrate structural insights into drug discovery.
  • Stay current with technological advancements in structural biology, biophysics, and protein sciences.

Job Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Structural Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, or a related field with a minimum of 8 years of industry experience in biotech/pharma.
  • Extensive expertise in structural determination techniques, including X-ray crystallography, cryo-EM, and NMR.
  • Experience in recombinant protein production from different expression systems, including construct design and optimization.
  • Proven track record of contributing to drug discovery programs through structural insights and delivering on project and company goals.
  • Proficient in structural biology software and data analysis tools.
  • Strong ability to analyze complex structural and biophysical data to support research efforts.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to new methodologies and technologies.
