Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced scientist with deep expertise in LC-MS/MS analysis of small molecular drugs in biological samples, including blood, serum, plasma, and urine. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in using both QTOF and QQQ instrument platforms and possess a proven track record of published methods, articles, abstracts, or patents. This role requires an independent thinker with strong leadership abilities to manage and drive the projects effectively.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
    • You must provide undergrad transcripts that show you have the following coursework: Required- Minimum of 22 semester credit hours in college-level chemistry coursework that includes 8 semester hours- General Chemistry with labs, 8 semester hours- Organic Chemistry with labs, 2 additional Chemistry courses of at least 3 semesters hours in Analytical Chemistry, Instrumental Analysis, Quantitative Analysis, Physical Chemistry, etc.
  • Minimum of 3+ years extensive experience in LC-MS/MS analysis of biological samples.
  • Proficiency with QTOF and QQQ instrument platforms, preferably Sciex instruments such as X500R QTOF, 7600 ZenoTOF, 6500, and 7500 QQQ.
  • Strong publication record, including methods, articles, abstracts, or patents.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead projects and teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced LC-MS/MS analysis on biological samples (blood, serum, plasma, urine) using QTOF and QQQ platforms.
  • Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods to meet project objectives.
  • Lead and manage multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality results.
  • Mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot LC-MS/MS instrumentation to ensure optimal performance.
  • Prepare and publish scientific methods, articles, abstracts, or patents to contribute to the field.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support research and development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and laboratory best practices.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Possesses good oral and written communication, analytical, and computer skills (including use of word processors, spreadsheets and data analysis software).

  • Ability to effectively identify, present and resolve non-technical and technical information and respond to questions in an understandable manner.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex technical data, procedures, and instructions in verbal, written, mathematical or diagrammatical form.
  • Ability to define and resolve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to write presentations and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.
  • Ability to make effective speeches/presentations to management, public groups and/or scientific forums.

Physical Demands:

  • Good hearing and communication ability.
  • Vision (with correction) including distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Standing, reaching with hands and arms, and using hands and fingers to manipulate instrument or equipment controls, computer keyboard, office equipment, objects, or tools.
  • Movement from one work location to another.
  • Sitting and standing, sometimes for extended periods of time.
  • Lifting objects up to 20 lbs.
  • Exposure to intermittent or constant sounds generated by equipment.
  • Exposure to fumes, noxious odors, and dust.
  • Handling of biological material and blood-borne pathogens.
  • Handling of toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Proximity to moving parts.
