About the Role

A leading global healthcare communications agency is seeking a highly experienced and strategicPrincipal Medical Writerto join their Medical team.


In this senior role, you will lead the development of scientifically rigorous, strategically aligned content across a range of therapeutic areas, while acting as a scientific and editorial lead for client accounts. You will play a central role in shaping project strategy, engaging directly with clients, and mentoring junior colleagues to ensure the delivery of impactful, compliant, and high-quality healthcare communications.


Core Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation, review, and delivery of accurate, engaging scientific content across multiple formats and therapy areas.
  • Act as theprimary scientific and editorial contactfor clients, providing strategic direction and consultation.
  • Oversee the work of junior writers, offering guidance, feedback, and mentoring to support their development.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and alignment with client brand strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with client services and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery, on time and within budget.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, contributing to resource planning, budgeting, and revenue forecasting.
  • Stay up to date with therapy area developments, industry trends, and regulatory guidelines, sharing insights with the team and clients.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives, including training, CSR, and knowledge-sharing activities.


Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Medical Writing within amedical communications agency
  • Strong scientific background (life sciences degree required; MSc or PhD desirable).
  • Proven track record in leading accounts and providing strategic scientific input.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in client-facing settings.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, with strong quality control and compliance knowledge.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring, managing, and developing junior team members.
