We are looking to appoint a commercial, forward-thinking and solution focused Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services team in Bristol . In line with our company ethos to evolve and strive for excellence, we are looking for a driven and capable individual. You will work to ensure projects are delivered to the right scope of time, quality and budget. You will prepare and manage designs, feasibility studies, reports and contract documents ,  and carry out building analysis. You will  l iaise directly with Clients and Contractors and promote business development .  You will supervise a team of engineers and technicians and assist in management of project resources and costs.

About YouThis role will suit a Principal Building Services Engineer (Mechanical)  who has the desire and capabilities to develop their career within a people and client orientated construction and property consultancy.  

Our ideal Principal Building Services Engineer (Mechanical) must have: 

  • HND/Degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Significant experience of mechanical building services / HVAC design (ie. domestic water services, ventilation, heating, cooling)
  • Hands on knowledge and understanding of IES, Hevacomp and AutoCAD; experience with Revit MEP is desirable
  • Knowledge of current legislation e.g. UK Building Regulations, also Low/Zero Carbon Technologies and BREEAM
  • Excellent communication skills, collaborative and self - motivated

It would be nice for you to have:

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or IEng, BEng with mechanical engineering experience
  • Knowledge of construction industry design processes and procurement arrangements
  • Excellent design skills across a variety of sectors
  • Resource planning and management experience
  • Business development experience
