Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Principal Analytical Chemist to join a leading pharmaceutical company based in the Cambridgeshire area. As the Principal Analytical Chemist you will be responsible for being the subject matter expert for the organic or inorganic testing facility, training the junior staff and helping progress the laboratory through analytical testing and development.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Your duties as the Principal Analytical Chemist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:

1. Support for the Departments maintenance plans for any additional analytical equipment it may use as well as its specialized analytical instrumentation. Regular in-house maintenance procedures must be kept current, and maintenance processes must guarantee that instruments are maintained clean and in functional order.

2. Create and implement business improvement ideas that will increase the quality of our analytical capabilities, the service we provide to our clients, and the availability of instruments in all parts of the organics lab. These ideas should also minimize rework and customer inquiries.

3. Examine and implement unconventional approaches and data creation in accordance with client and company requirements.

4. Provide ongoing instruction to the crew of the organic/inorganic laboratory.

Role Requirements

To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Principal Analytical Chemist we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:

1. Relevant degree in a science related field, preferably Chemistry.

2. Proven industry experience using GC & GCMS or a variety of ICP detectors.

3. A working knowledge and practical experience with ISO 17025:2017 guidelines.
