Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Membrane Protein Structural Biology and Protein Acylation

We are seeking

to appoint a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join the laboratory of Professor Christian Siebold at the University of Oxford. You will contribute to the BBSRC-funded Strategic Longer and Larger (sLoLa) research programme entitled “An integrated analysis of S-acylation dynamics and its importance in cell physiology.” This collaborative, multidisciplinary project is led by the University of Strathclyde and involves leading institutions across the UK. You will be expected to take an active role in experimental design, data interpretation, and dissemination of results through high-quality publications and presentations. You will also contribute to the preparation of research reports and funding proposals and may assist in coordinating aspects of this complex, multi-institutional research programme. With a current PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in chemistry, biology, or a related field, you will have demonstrable research experience in structural biology of membrane proteins using single particle cryo-EM, in particular data collection, processing and structure solution. Similar research experience in mammalian cell culture expression and production of membrane proteins for structural studies is also desirable.
