Job Summary

Walsall One PCN - Modality PartnershipWalsall Division has a full-time vacancy for a PCN Pharmacy Technician on a 1-year fixed term contract. The postholder will be a high performing Pharmacy Technician, working across the Partnership and the Walsall PCN Practices providing Pharmacy Technician support along with Pharmacists, who together with digital enablers such as online consultations, will create an innovative pharmacy hub for patients. We are seeking dedicated postholders to join our team and who can display our CARE values: Commitment, Accountability, Respect and Excellence.

This job is suitable for individuals who are career driven and have a passion for patient care and supporting patients with their health outcomes. Working with the wider team such as Pharmacists, Prescribing teams, and GPs to ensure prescribing targets are met and changes are made in a timely manner.

Main duties of the job

The core role responsibilities will cover clinical, and technical and administrative categories. The purpose of the role is to lead improvements to maximise safe, cost-effective best practice in prescribing to improve the quality of patient care. The post holder will help patients to get the best from their medicines by switching medications to agreed and approved protocols, improving repeat prescribing processes in General Practice, including promotion of repeat dispensing and online ordering, minimising clinical risk and aiming to reduce wasted medicines.

The role is not a regular 9am-5pm job; the job requires innovation, flexibility, and commitment and the postholder will be required to work resourcefully as part of the team to ensure tasks are completed.

We have a dedicated, enthusiastic team of health care professional comprising of different skills, and specialities including; Physiotherapists, Paramedics, a Pharmacist Technician, Social Prescribers and a Health Well-Being Coach.

GPhC Registered Pharmacy Technician
BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmacy services

Desirable

Enrolled in, undertaking or qualified from, an approved training pathway. For example, the Primary Care Pharmacy Educational Pathway (PCPEP) or Medicines Optimisation in Care Homes (MOCH)
