Pharmacy Technician-Pharmacy Patient Services Band 4 / 5 We are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking Band 4 (or Band 5 depending on experience) Pharmacy Technicians (or Band 5 depending on experience), to join our team of skilled Clinical Technicians to provide high quality medicines management for the Trust.
You will provide a clinical pharmacy service to a group of wards under the supervision of a Clinical Lead Pharmacist and Clinical Lead Technician. We support the development of our staff through our Education and Training Department.
You must be registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician, or due to register by September 2025, and hospital experience is essential
Main duties of the job You will provide safe and efficient pharmaceutical care, ensuring that all medication required is assembled in a timely manner. You will participate in a 7 day Medicines Management service to the wards, and will be expected to work weekends on a rota basis.
You will provide the full range of clinical duties of a pharmacy technician with particular emphasis on Medicine Reconciliation including the use of patient's own drugs and facilitate the discharge medication supply.
You will train as a Tobacco Dependancy Advisor and offer support and advice to all inpatients that wish to give up smoking.
You must have obtained or be working towards the accredited checking pharmacy technician (ACPT) qualification. You must have obtained or be working towards the medicine optimisation programme or have a Pharmacy Technician Integrated Apprenticeship qualification or an equivalent qualification.
