The Cherwell Hospital - Banbury
Full Time - 37.5 hours

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join The Cherwell Hospital. The successful Pharmacy Technician will work within a team of Pharmacists and Technicians providing support to the wider hospital team and patients. 

The role 

In this role you will be an integral part of a team who are committed to delivering the highest quality clinical outcomes in a supported environment, where you will be valued for your skills and expertise. This role comprises of but is not limited to:

Be an expert in procurement of medicines and or medical devices (including any unlicensed medicines)

To ensure the maintenance of a high standard of stock control and stock rotation for medicines

To supervise the daily stock level/expiry checks as per audit requirement and be responsible for making the necessary adjustments

Manage medicines invoicing as per Ramsay Guidelines

Be an integral part of staff development and training throughout the hospital, as well as supporting the team to make decisions and introduce innovative and streamlined processes.

Support the pharmacy manager in medicines reconciliation

Support both the pharmacy and wider hospital teams with audits

Be able to provide ad hoc support to our sister hospital in Milton Keynes.

To work alongside the pharmacy manager to supervise a rolling monthly check of the departmental holding of Controlled Drugs reporting any discrepancies to the pharmacy manager

To detect, record and report drug related clinical incidents according to hospital policy

Together with pharmacy manager develop, update and implement changes to pharmacy procedures as necessary

The successful candidate will hold the following essential qualifications/criteria:

NVQ3, BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent level

Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician

We require you to have clear and confident communication skills, be patient focused

Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required

Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business

Have the ability to make decisions and use your initiative

Passion to deliver excellent care in a rewarding and friendly environment

Have a full Driving License and be able to commute to other Ramsay sites (in specific for Induction and Procurement training)

The Cherwell Hospital is part of the Ramsay Health Care group and provides clinical care to both private, insured and NHS patients.  It has a 36 inpatient unit and day-case facility, and is equipped to undertake a large range of procedures.
