Job Description:

Our Organisational Effectiveness & Agility practice are looking for an experienced Senior Consultant or Manager to join the team.

We are experts who put people first to transform organisations through effective and efficient operating models, structures and cultures to deliver impact that lasts through a skilled and engaged workforce. This expertise is applied across clients in all of our industry market sectors (Financial Services, Products & Services, Energy & Resources, Pharmaceutical & Lifesciences and Government).

What you will be doing

Our Organisation Effectiveness and Agility roles are about partnering with our clients to help them build an organisation for the future. Our approach is to bring together our deep expertise in agile operating model, agile governance and lean portfolio management, agile ways of working improvement and tooling to design and implement solutions that deliver tangible improvements for our clients. We pride ourselves on being a bit more geek than generalist and live by the mantra: Be kind, be curious, be great at work. Our people have the opportunity to work with our clients on really interesting work, for example:

  1. Enabling organisations to mobilise and execute strategic initiatives by establishing cross-functional value streams or tribes, embedding agile tools, techniques, and processes for sustainable delivery.
  2. Assisting organisations in recovering and realigning struggling strategic initiatives by implementing a value-driven delivery model, with OKRs integrated into governance and progress reporting for greater focus and accountability.
  3. Supporting organisations in adopting strategic tools such as Jira, Planview, and Clarity for portfolio management, work governance, and visualisation, driving enhanced decision-making agility and delivery efficiency.
  4. Coaching delivery teams in agile or hybrid models, instilling rigorous agile management practices and tailoring methodologies to match their maturity level for improved outcomes.
  5. Being part of complex organisational transformations, helping clients build agility and adaptability across both technology-focused areas and broader business functions.
  6. Partnering with clients to embed new cultures and ways of working across their organisations, ensuring both leadership and teams embrace and sustain these changes.
  7. Developing and implementing strategies to help clients scale and sustain new ways of working, ensuring a lasting impact across their organisations.
  8. Leaving behind a lasting capability: at Baringa, we empower our clients to internalise our practices so they can replicate and sustain their successes independently, which is central to our approach.

Your skills and experience

  • You have proven consulting experience in delivering initiatives within both agile and hybrid organisations, utilising a variety of agile tools and techniques across a range of market sectors.
  • You have formed part of delivery teams on large-scale transformations in complex or regulated industries, successfully navigating their unique challenges.
  • You possess practical, hands-on experience in applying agile principles to deliver tangible outcomes, beyond theoretical knowledge of frameworks, and are skilled at adapting off-the-shelf frameworks to suit client-specific contexts.
  • You have a good understanding of how tooling (Jira, Confluence, ADO, Clarity, Planview, Leankit etc.) can be used as an enabler to drive value delivery by creating greater transparency, alignment and reducing admin overhead.
  • You can identify key issues impeding value delivery and distil them into root causes that need to be addressed.
  • You have experience in designing and delivering coaching and improvement programmes to support leaders and teams in transitioning to agile ways of working, starting from varying levels of maturity.
  • You take ownership and consistently deliver results in challenging, client-facing environments.
  • You have experience working with senior leaders and C-suite executives to create tailored, innovative solutions.
  • You are comfortable and experienced in presenting to clients at the C-suite level.

What a career at Baringa will give you

Putting People First.

Baringa is a People First company and wellbeing is at the forefront of our culture. We recognise the importance of work-life balance and flexible working and provide our staff with amazing benefits. Some of these benefits include:

  • Generous Annual Leave Policy: We recognise everyone needs a well-deserved break. We provide our employees with 5 weeks of annual leave, fully available at the start of each year. In addition to this, we have introduced our 5-Year Recharge benefit which allows all employees an additional 2 weeks of paid leave after 5 years continuous service.
  • Flexible Working: We know that the ‘ideal’ work-life balance will vary from person to person and change at different stages of our working lives. To accommodate this, we have implemented a hybrid working policy and introduced more flexibility around taking unpaid leave.
  • Corporate Responsibility Days: Our world is important to us, so all our employees get 3 every year to help social and environmental causes and increase our impact on the communities that mean the most to us.
  • Wellbeing Fund: We want to encourage all employees to take charge and prioritise their own wellbeing. We’ve introduced our annual People Fund to support this by offering every individual a fund to support and manage their wellbeing through an activity of their choice.
  • Career Progression: No one develops at the same pace. That’s why we have quarterly rather than annual promotion reviews. We don’t have any quotas: if you’re ready and delivering at the right level, you’ll get that promotion.
  • Profit Share Scheme: All employees participate in the Baringa Group Profit Share Scheme so everyone has a stake in the company’s success.
