Consultant Psychiatrist in CAMHS Getting More Help(GMH) South Are you a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatristinterested in delivering and developing ground-breaking and growingChild and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in cultural andpicturesque Oxfordshire? We have a Consultant opportunity in ourGetting More Help South CAMHS team. This Consultant post would bebased within a well-resourced multidisciplinary team with veryexperienced fellow Consultants. As a Consultant, you will beresponsible for supporting your team manager in ensuring that ourservice users' needs are met through the delivery of high-qualitycare, offering a person-centred approach to their independence andwell-being. You will have clinical leadership opportunities todevelop services across the patch and medicaleducation/supervision. You will also be part of a Trust wideConsultant network where there are opportunities to liaise withcolleagues in other posts throughout the Trust and develop peernetworks. You will also see Consultant peers at regular divisionmeetings in the locality and at clinical governance meetings. TheTrust is committed to high quality teaching and training and wework closely with the Psychiatric Department of the University ofOxford. Main duties of the job With the changing circumstances ofmodern mental healthcare, the ability to adapt and demonstrate newways of working is essential. You will have experience of workingin CAMHS and have great interpersonal skills working withcolleagues to work collaboratively with our team managers, and toprovide leadership and clinical expertise to our highly skilled andcommitted multidisciplinary teams. The appointed Consultant willprovide senior medical input and clinical leadership to the GettingMore Help South Team. The appointed Consultant will haveresponsibility for those patients seen by himself/herself, togetherwith those patients seen by medical staff directly supervised bythe post holder. The Clinical duties will be set within thetimetable of the week and will include the following: - Contributeto the Post Assessment clinic consultation slot. - Contribute toLocality Peer Supervision - Support the induction of the ClinicalTeam and Medical Team - Take part in the locality Duty Medic Rota -Attend the locality Medical Team Meeting and Clinically TeamMeeting - Lead on staff training, regularly offer teaching slots inthe Breakfast Teaching Slot - Contribute to the Supervision Treeand Lead on supervising Medical Trainees - Complete Routine,Urgent, Emergency and MHA Assessments. - Attend routine and urgentMulti-Agency patient planning meetings with other agencies -Contribute to CIN and CP - Complete Health Section of ECHPApplications - Contribute to staff training and development,including co-facilitating Away Days - Lead on Clinical AuditProjects - Work closely with the Management Team Culture workingwithin the CQC domains of SAFE, EFFECTIVE, RESPONSIVE, CARING &WELL-LED. - To manage, appraise and give professional supervisionto junior medical staff as agreed between consultant colleagues andthe medical director and in accordance with the Trusts personnelpolicies and procedures. - To ensure that junior medical staffworking with the post holder operate within the parameters of theNew Deal and are Working Time Directive compliant. - To undertakethe administrative duties associated with the care of patients. -To record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively andsubmit this promptly to the Information Department. - Toparticipate in service and business planning activity for thelocality and, as appropriate, for the whole mental health service.- To participate in annual appraisal for consultants. - To attendand participate in the academic programme of the Trust, includinglectures and seminars as part of the internal CPD programme. - Tomaintain professional registration with the General MedicalCouncil, Mental Health Act Section 12(2) approval, and to abide byprofessional codes of conduct. - To participate annually in a jobplan review with the clinical manager, which will includeconsultation with a relevant manager in order to ensure that thepost is developed to take into account changes in serviceconfiguration and delivery associated with modernisation. - To workwith local managers and professional colleagues in ensuring theefficient running of services and share with consultant colleaguesin the medical contribution to management. - To comply with theTrusts agreed policies, procedures, standing orders and financialinstructions, and to take an active role in the financialmanagement of the service and support the medical director andother managers in preparing plans for services. PersonSpecification Qualifications - MB BS or equivalent medicalqualification - Qualification or higher degree in medicaleducation, clinical research or management - CCT in child andadolescent psychiatry - Fully registered with the GMC with alicence to practise at the time of appointment. - Included on theGMC Specialist Register OR within six months. - Approved clinicianstatus OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment - Approvedunder S12 OR able to achieve with 3 months of appointment - In goodstanding with GMC with respect to warning and conditions onpractice Transport - Holds and will use valid UK driving licence ORprovides evidence of proposed alternative.
