About the Role

A leading global healthcare communications agency is seeking a skilled and motivated Medical Writer 2 to join their Medical team.


In this role, you will be responsible for developing scientifically accurate, strategically aligned content across a variety of therapeutic areas, ensuring deliverables meet the highest quality standards. You will work closely with clients, contribute to project strategy, and support junior colleagues, all within a collaborative and supportive team environment.


Core Responsibilities

  • Independently interpret and transform complex scientific data into clear, accurate, and engaging content across multiple accounts and formats.
  • Participate in client meetings to refine project briefs, ensuring clarity, strategic alignment, and quality.
  • Manage small to medium-sized projects, monitoring progress, timelines, budgets, and flagging scope changes when necessary.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior writers, fostering professional growth and best practice.
  • Maintain exceptional editorial and quality control standards, ensuring all outputs align with client brand strategies and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project delivery, meeting deadlines and objectives.
  • Stay informed on relevant therapy area developments, industry trends, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives such as training, CSR, and knowledge-sharing activities.


Requirements

  • Relevant medical writing experience within a medical communications, pharmaceutical, or healthcare environment.
  • Broad knowledge of therapy areas, with the ability to adapt writing style to varied audiences.
  • Strong scientific background (life sciences degree required; MSc or PhD desirable).
  • Excellent attention to detail, quality control, and compliance awareness.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Confident communicator with solid interpersonal skills, including client-facing experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
