We’re excited to announce a brand-new opportunity within our Rare Diseases team for aMedical Manager. This is a dynamic and impactful role where you’ll play a critical part in shaping and delivering the medical and scientific strategy across both current and future pipeline products. As a clinical and scientific expert, you’ll work cross-functionally within the Integrated Brand Team (IBT), engage with internal and external stakeholders, and drive patient-focused solutions through meaningful scientific exchange and insight generation.

Role Responsibilities

Delivering Medical Affairs Leadership

  • Serve as the medical expert for the therapy area Integrated Brand Team (IBT), collaborating with cross-functional team members.
  • Be a part of development and implementation of strategic plans aligned with Ipsen UK Operations and Group Objectives.
  • Input in the creation of the Local Annual Medical Plan and Asset Medical Budgets in collaboration with key medical functions.
  • Partner with the Rare Diseases team to shape medical strategy and tactics.

Establishing and Fostering Professional Collaborations

  • Conduct fair and balanced scientific exchanges with Thought Leaders (TLs) to explore mutual interests, generate insights, and identify research opportunities.
  • Act as a key medical contact for TLs and external medical experts, enhancing scientific and educational collaborations.

Scientific Exchange and Educational Activities

  • Deliver or support scientific and educational presentations to Health Care Professionals (HCPs) on Ipsen products (on-label/off-label) and disease area management.
  • Organise or support scientific exchange meetings and satellite symposia at UK&I congresses.

Insight Generation

  • Be aware of the actionable insights from HCPs on disease states, unmet needs, guidelines, therapeutic trends, and the healthcare environment.
  • Organise and deliver Advisory Boards; attend and report insights from major national and regional medical congresses.
  • Collaborate with patient organisations in line with Ipsen’s guidance on interactions.

Clinical Development and Data Generation

  • Support R&D and Company Sponsored Studies (CSS) including site identification, feasibility, recruitment, and study management.
  • Manage unsolicited Investigator-Sponsored Study (ISS) requests from submission to publication.
  • Contribute to post-marketing clinical activities and identify opportunities for real-world evidence generation.
  • Guide the development and implementation of integrated data generation plans and support peer-reviewed publications and presentations.

Internal Cross-Functional Collaboration

With Commercial Teams

  • Provide scientific expertise and training.
  • Review and approve promotional and non-promotional materials per SOPs.
  • Contribute clinical/scientific perspectives to brand teams and account planning.

With Market Access

  • Support formulary submissions and respond to external scientific inquiries.
  • Collaborate on initiatives to enhance the patient journey and deliver scientific presentations as needed.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Accredited physician or UK registered Pharmacist.
  • Experience as a medical signatory for the UK ABPI Code of Practice
  • Experience in medical affairs will be beneficial.
  • Experience in design, planning and conduct of clinical research protocols.
  • Has the ability and the mandate to shape the external environment and shows a superb aptitude in partnering relevant external and also all internal stakeholder in the Therapeutic Area especially with Market Access, Marketing and Sales colleagues.
  • Experience and expert working knowledge of legal, regulatory, and compliance regulations and guidelines relevant to industry interactions with health-care professionals.
