Our growing and stable company with over 40 years in business is expanding to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to run our design office and help develop our skilled team of Design Engineers. Taking ownership of the mechanical design for capital equipment / special purpose machinery projects for clients across the UK from our site in rural Wales.
 
BASIC SALARY: Up to £55,000

JOB DESCRIPTION: Mechanical Design Engineer - Industrial Capital Equipment, Machinery
 
As our Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be running the design office and leading new product development for a manufacturer of capital equipment projects for the paint, pharmaceutical, chemical, personal care and food manufacturing sectors. Typically running one main capital equipment project at a time (from £50k - £400k) and supporting several others at various stages.
 
· 3D and 2D mechanical design on projects from conception to delivery.
· Creation of drawings for internal and sub-contracted manufacturing.
· We use SolidWorks, but a good understanding of a similar package will suffice
· Completion of BOM's & technical documentation.
 
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Mechanical Design Engineer - Industrial Capital Equipment, Machinery
 
· An experienced, mechanically biased Design Engineer.
· You're a problem solver with a desire to mentor our design engineering team.
· Commutable to office in central Wales or able to relocate.
 
The perfect background would be exposure to the packaging and process machinery sector, but anything related to mechanical sub-assemblies, materials handling, industrial capital equipment or automotive (for instance) would also be on interest.

Well respected, and established designer, manufacturer and supplier of capital equipment projects across several sectors including paint, pharmaceutical, chemical, personal care and food manufacturing.
