M&E Estimator – Cleanroom & Technical Fit-Out Projects – North East
A leading specialist contractor delivering high-performance cleanroom and controlled environment projects across the UK and Europe is seeking an experienced M&E Estimator to join its expanding commercial team in Hull.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented and commercially minded M&E professional to support the pre-construction and tendering process for complex and technically demanding mechanical and electrical fit-out projects in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate Mechanical & Electrical cost estimates for cleanroom and technical fit-out projects
  • Interpret M&E drawings, specifications, and tender documents to identify project scope and requirements
  • Source and assess M&E supplier and subcontractor quotations for compliance, value, and technical suitability
  • Develop M&E cost plans, budgets, and value engineering options in collaboration with design and delivery teams
  • Work closely with commercial, design, and project management teams during bid preparation and submission
  • Attend internal handovers and client meetings to support bid clarifications and negotiations
  • Maintain and update M&E cost databases, benchmarks, and estimation templates
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the M&E estimating function
    Candidate Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an M&E Estimator within construction or fit-out projects, preferably with exposure to cleanroom or highly technical environments
  • Strong understanding of M&E systems, installation processes, and materials typically used in cleanroom and pharmaceutical fit-outs
  • Excellent analytical and numeracy skills with a strong commercial focus
  • Experience working with subcontractor pricing, labour, plant, and material take-offs for M&E scopes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and relevant estimation software/tools
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and team collaboration skills
  • Based in or able to commute to Hull; minimal travel required
