About the Role

The Business Development Manager, Viralgen Vector Core is responsible for driving sales growth and overall success of Viralgen Vector Core. This role is remote based in the UK and reports to the VP of Business Development.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  1. Identify opportunities for new clients, business areas, and market shares.
  2. Set goals and develop plans for business and revenue growth.
  3. Research, plan and implement new target market initiatives.
  4. Manage sales process for AAV manufacturing from prospect identification to signed proposals.
  5. Maintain and nurture relationships with client base to secure long-term business moving forward.
  6. Drive negotiations with C-suite and other executives at current and potential client accounts.
  7. Set long-term strategies and gain buy-in from internal stakeholders.
  8. Identify and manage execution of key elements of marketing strategy including marketing materials needed, conferences attended and measurement of return for these efforts.
  9. Manage Salesforce CRM effectively to enable the generation of accurate and timely reports of the sales activities, pipeline and results of the business.
  10. Interface with internal and external KOLs to generate market interest and engagement with AAV manufacturing.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. BS Degree in Bioanalytical Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Virology or related field and 6+ years’ experience in business-to-business sales of biotechnology products and services.
  2. Experience in cell and/or gene therapy sales or management.
  3. Ability to multitask among multiple projects and teams and work independently in a fast-paced, highly interactive environment.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with people, internally and externally.
  5. Self-motivated, organized, capable of working independently as well as in group environment to collaborate with external clients and internal stakeholders.

Preferred Education, Experience & Skills:

  1. Master’s degree in a related field.
  2. Knowledge of global gene therapy production markets and supply chain conditions in those areas.
  3. Experience with global teams and international travel.
  4. Experience with long-term, strategic agreements including contract writing, reviewing and negotiation.
  5. Displays the highest standards of personal and professional conduct.
  6. Supports organizational ethical standards and values.
  7. Scientific and business knowledge and acumen sufficient to analyze, summarize and present both technical and business information relevant to the technology to both internal and external audiences.
  8. Excellent time management skills with the ability to adapt to international time zones for extended working hours.
