This position is a key part of the finance team located at the Filtration manufacturing site in Ilfracombe, Devon. You will enjoy working with all functions of the business and learning about how filters are made, enabling you to understand the standard cost structure of our products. In order to learn effectively and provide effective business partnering you will be based on-site.

What You’ll Do

Work closely with the Plant Controller to analyse and produce accurate data to assist in all aspects of the Plant finances, including but not limited to:

  • Monitor and investigate manufacturing variances and partner with Operations teams to highlight improvement opportunities
  • Investigate product cost variances during the standard cost roll process and highlight issues to the relevant team and Plant Controller
  • Prepare spend v budget reports for capital projects and liaise with budget holders to assist the Plant Controller in the preparation of an accurate capital spend forecast
  • Produce cost centre spending reports and highlight variances to budget holders and Plant Controller
  • Assist in the month end close process
  • Use DBS (Lean) tools to find continuous improvement opportunities
  • Support the internal Sarbanes-Oxley audit programme

Who You Are

  • CIMA or ACCA Qualified or working towards professional accounting qualification, and/or minimum 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing facility in Operations finance
  • Solid PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications (e.g. SAP), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, vlookups etc)
  • Attention to detail is a must
  • Keen to learn about the business
  • Tenacious approach to problem solving
  • Flexible approach and able to work with associates from various functions within the business
