Shift pattern: Rotating shift pattern (Panama shift - 12 hour shifts – Days and Nights )

This is an exciting opportunity to join Arla Foods flagship UK dairy as a Process Engineer. Providing specialist Maintenance & Engineering support to a fully automated site, operating complex process equipment such as Homogenisers, pasteurization, Separators, CIP systems, instrumentation, pumps and much more.

So what do our Process Engineers do?

  • To effectively perform electrical, mechanical maintenance and controls fault finding of all Dairy process equipment.
  • Ensuring the legal compliance and efficient/reliable operation of all plant within budget while instilling an atmosphere of continuous improvement to ensure the continued effectiveness of our operations.
  • There will be a key emphasis on customer relations effectively liaising with all departments including site Energy Centre.

What you’ll need in order to be successful in the role

  • Ideally will have a recognised time served apprenticeship in an engineering discipline with HNC/HND
  • Able to demonstrate logical thought processes and ways of working
  • 3 years recent detailed experience within an automated process environment – Food / Drinks / Brewing / Pharmaceutical
  • Technical hands on expert in all process related plant and equipment Mechanical /Electrical/Instrumentation
  • Skilled in reading SCADA visualisations

Functional skill set

  • Condition Based Monitoring (CBM)
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
  • Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM)
  • Use of Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) – SAP Maintenance Module
  • Deliver day to day and preventive maintenance on all site servers, drivers and automation systems.
  • Participate in and lead on local CI initiatives, taking ownership of projects and delivering tangible results.

  • The capacity of Aylesbury Dairy is 1.30 billion litres annually.
  • We were the first dairy site to use AGV technology to move TETs with milk
  • Our cold store area is 1.5 times the size of Wembley’s football pitch
  • We made a few appearances on TV including BBC’s ‘Inside the Factory’ and Chanel 4 ‘Food unwrapped’
