Bespak is looking for an onsite, permanent, Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer on the Holmes Chapel site, CW4 8BE. The salary for this role is £70,647 (pending annual pay rise), this includes the shift allowances. Other benefits you will receive are 25 days leave plus bank holidays, discretionary annual bonus, generous 10% pension contribution, onsite free parking, and medical / dental / health / life assurance.
Working Pattern 2/2/3 rotating - Example shift: 2 days 7am-7pm, 2 days off, 3 nights 7pm-7am, 2 days off, 2 days 7am to 7pm 3 days off repeat the 14-day cycle starting with 2 days 7pm to 7am.
This shift ensures you only work 2 weekends every 28-day cycle.

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for providing maintenance and repair services for pharmaceutical filling and packaging production equipment and systems. You will focus on optimising the reliability and effectiveness of manufacturing assets while adhering to safety, record-keeping, and GMP standards. Your role will involve performing planned and breakdown maintenance, actively identifying and implementing equipment improvements, and ensuring quality compliance through proper documentation. You will also support the installation and commissioning of new equipment and commit to ongoing professional development to stay current with technology.
Bespak in Holmes Chapel is an Investors in People Silver Award-winning pharmaceutical CDMO with over 350 employees, currently going through a period of significant site expansion. We are investing heavily to increase our capacity for developing and manufacturing sustainable pMDIs (asthma inhalers) with greener propellants, meeting the evolving standards of the industry, while providing comprehensive development, manufacturing, filling, and finishing solutions for a range of medical devices, including SMIs, DPIs, nasal sprays, and medical check valves.
As a Maintenance Engineer, your duties will include:
Maintain and repair filling and packing production equipment.
Optimize equipment performance and ensure safety/GMP compliance.
Find solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency.
Undertake company training to remain updated on new technology.
Document maintenance activities and ensure quality standards.
Assist with new equipment installation and qualification.
Maintenance Engineer, beneficial key skills and experience:
Experience in pharmaceutical or other regulated industry engineering environment.
Proven troubleshooting skills in multi-skilled environments, works autonomously.
Strong team player, with effective communication and training abilities.
Familiarity with PC based maintenance systems.
Health & safety awareness with experience of performing risk assessments.
You must hold a relevant apprenticeship or NVQ 3s in mechanical and electrical disciplines.
