Maintenance Engineer -Electrical

Derbyshire (M1 border) - commutable from Derby, Nottingham, Castle Donnington, Kegworth.

4 day working Week! Monday-Thursday 7am - 5pm.

W Talent is supporting a leading high-hazardous product manufacturer based near Draycot, Derbyshire, who are now looking to recruit a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on cutting-edge equipment within a secure, high-specification manufacturing environment.

My client is based in Derby, is renowned for delivering safety-critical technology to global industrial partners. Following continued investment and recent expansion, they are looking to strengthen their maintenance capability with a forward-thinking engineer who's confident working with advanced control systems, including Allen-Bradley.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs across electrical systems and machinery.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain Allen-Bradley PLC systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and field devices.

  • Work closely with automation and production teams to improve system reliability and reduce downtime.

  • Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics to safely and effectively diagnose faults.

  • Support installation, commissioning, and modification of electrical/control systems.

  • Maintain clear and accurate maintenance logs through the CMMS system.

  • Ensure all work complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects with a focus on automation and efficiency.

    Key Requirements:

    The successful candidate will be a qualified Electrical Engineer with experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, ideally within defence, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, mining or similar high-integrity sectors. Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley control systems is essential. Experience working in hazardous (ATEX) environments is advantageous, along with a strong understanding of safety compliance in regulated industries and fault diagnostics on Safety relays and circuits.

  • Electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds / ONC).

  • Strong working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLCs (e.g. ControlLogix, CompactLogix), HMIs and VFDs.

  • Experience with PPM, fault finding, and working to strict H&S standards.

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

  • Experience in ATEX-rated or hazardous area environments (desirable).

  • 4-day working week - Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

  • £40k-£50k per annum.
