Job Title: Haematology/Transfusion Biomedical Scientist Band 5/6
Location: Manchester
Duration: 3-month rolling contract with potential for extension
Schedule: Monday – Sunday, 37.5 hours per week (24/7 rota)
Start Date: ASAP
Rate of Pay: £20 - £26 per hour DOE (umbrella equivalent)

What You’ll Be Doing:

Join our team as a Haematology/Transfusion Biomedical Scientist and help deliver top-tier diagnostic services. In this role, your key duties will include:

Performing a variety of haematology and transfusion laboratory tests
Assisting with the preparation and analysis of blood samples for diagnostic purposes
Conducting blood group testing, crossmatching, and other transfusion-related tests
Maintaining high standards in lab procedures while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations
Supporting the development and implementation of quality control measures
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible patient care

Requirements & Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, you will need:

HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist
IBMS Accredited Degree
At least 1 - 2 years of experience in a Haematology laboratory, with transfusion experience preferred
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A commitment to providing high-quality, efficient laboratory services
Full right to work in the UK (we are unable to provide sponsorship)

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

The role requires availability from Monday to Sunday, 37.5 hours per week, across a 24/7 rota. The contract is for an initial 3 months with the possibility of rolling extensions, depending on performance and service needs.
