Hunter AHP have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Locum Biomedical Scientist with specialist experience inHaematologyto join a reputable NHS hospital based inSouth Wales. This role is ideal for a driven professional seeking to contribute to a busy and evolving Haematology service within a supportive and forward-thinking laboratory team.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform a wide range of routine and specialist haematology tests

Operate automated haematology analysers (e.g., Sysmex, Beckman Coulter, Siemens)

Conduct blood film morphology and review abnormal findings

Support the lab’s quality management systems in line with UKAS/ISO 15189

Liaise with clinical staff on urgent and critical results

HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist

Minimum 1 year UK lab experience in Haematology

Competency in manual differentials and use of modern analysers

Understanding of internal/external quality assurance procedures

Previous NHS experience

Familiarity with LIMS platforms such as WinPath or LabCentre

Access to flexible contracts across NHS sites

Fast-track compliance and onboarding

Work in modern laboratories with expert clinical teams
