Overview

About the role

As the School continues to grow, we seek to appoint an enthusiastic Lecturer in Computational Biochemistry, who will develop and deliver high-quality and engaging education, on our undergraduate programmes. There is great potential for career advancement in this Teaching and Scholarship focused role. The successful candidate will join the Biochemistry Department and will integrate into a dynamic academic team, striving to modernise our delivery of educational activities. We are a dedicated and collaborative department that supports personal and professional development.

About You

We seek a dedicated professional with expertise in Biochemistry. Experience in teaching in silico modelling and/or coding and/or data manipulation is highly desirable. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to mentoring students and developing educational modules and programmes centred on skills acquisition and employability. They will be confident in engaging with and training students using modern educational approaches. The successful candidate must have appropriate subject knowledge and ability to teach at any level within the area of expertise and across a range of subjects at a more introductory level. They should also have an excellent academic background with a relevant PhD in Biochemistry, Computational Modelling or related subjects and / or relevant professional qualification and / or equivalent professional experience.

The School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences is a large and expanding academic unit, which provides a supportive and friendly environment and encourages interdisciplinary research.
