An exciting position has become available in the Infection Prevention and Control Team. We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 8a Matron to join the team.
Acting as an expert nurse, the post holder will clinically lead and manage the infection control nursing and administrative team ensuring the delivery of high quality patient care and the provision of specialist advice and guidance for all health care professionals and support staff across the Trust.
Working closely with the DIPC, DDIPC and Consultant Microbiologists, the post holder will play a major role across the Trust to provide operational leadership of infection prevention and control and service delivery, implementing and delivering the infection prevention and control annual plan.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible with other members of the infection prevention and control (IP&C) team in preventing and controlling infection in an acute hospital setting. This includes investigating, monitoring and raising awareness in the prevention, surveillance, investigation, management and control of healthcare associate infections.
