We are looking for a Lead LIMS Developer who will support our new Regeneron Cell Medicines (RCM) unit, located in the heart of Cambridge, MA. RCM is dedicated to novel cell therapies, translating science to medicine for our patients. In your role, you will interface with scientists as a lead IT partner, providing technical support on Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), customizing existing software platforms, and refining requirements for and building new data solutions. As an IT partner in the drug discovery process, you will deliver value by implementing efficient, secure, and time-savings technical solutions that help to streamline laboratory workflows. Within Regeneron Research & Preclinical Development IT, you will have the support of a large team resourced with broad software platforms and experienced in scientific data solutions.
As a Lead LIMS Developer, a typical day might include the following:
Interfacing with scientists to understand their data capture, analysis, and reporting requirements
Customizing Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for sample inventories and workflows in early research and process development labs
Developing, configuring, and supporting various IT systems
Gathering and refining business requirements and user stories to build or enhance data solutions
Proactively collaborating on IT project teams with scientists, business analysts, and programmers to help deliver technical solutions
Providing technical knowledge and support to the design, testing, and debugging of end user applications
Maintaining functionality of various systems to meet business, functional, and technical requirements
Collaborating with vendors to address technical issues on existing software, and defining new enhancements based on user requirements
This role may be for you if you have:
Expertise on the design, development, and support of various informatics software platforms that enable scientific organizations to gain new insights into their data
Hands-on experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), including for sample inventories and lab workflows for R&D teams in biopharma
Experience with designing, supporting, and using bioprocess/ preclinical manufacturing LIMS
Experience working with R&D scientists to develop business requirements and user stories
Prioritized and delivered multiple initiatives in an agile environment
Developed tactical and operational plans to transition to new technologies to support business processes
In order to be considered for this position, you must have an advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Bioinformatics, or similar field as well as at least 3 years of experience in programming and customization within Laboratory Inventory Management Systems (Sapio, preferably). Fundamental knowledge of the life sciences/biopharma space, with previous laboratory experience preferred. Experience with Python and object-oriented programming. Experience with source code version control, particularly Git. Experience with querying databases and using statistical computer languages (R, SQL, etc.). Experience as a business analyst by creating requirements documents, process flow diagrams, and test scripts. Must be onsite at least 3 days a week subject to management review, non-negotiable.
