Lead EngineerSalary: £52,000Shift: 2 Days, 2 Nights 4 Off 6-6Location: Scunthorpe, LincolnshireRole Purpose:As a Lead Technician, you will oversee a team of mechanical and electrical technicians, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of site equipment. Working closely with production, operations, and technical teams, you will drive engineering improvements, oversee maintenance activities, and support the training and development of your team. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring proactive problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards in safety, compliance, and operational performance.The Role – Lead EngineerLead and manage a team of mechanical and electrical technicians, ensuring smooth operation and reliability of all site equipment.Work closely with production, operations, and technical teams to drive engineering improvements and efficiency.Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and ensure timely resolution of breakdowns.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using the CMMS (Shire) system.Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for major stoppages and implement corrective actions.Oversee contractor activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and permit-to-work procedures.Ensure all engineering work adheres to health & safety, food safety, and GMP standards.Support the training and development of apprentices and engineering team members.The Candidate – Lead EngineerTime-served Engineer with recognised electrical and mechanical qualifications.Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with experience in RCA.Previous experience in an FMCG or manufacturing environment (desirable).Understanding of PLCs and computer-controlled equipment (desirable).Hands-on leadership style with excellent communication and teamwork skills.Key Words – Senior Engineer, Lead Engineer, Senior Technician, Lead TechnicianPlease contact (Ryan Taylor at Winsearch for more information)Winsearch acts as an employment agency for permanent staff.
