About the Client
This well-established healthcare provider combines retail pharmacy services with significant pharmaceutical wholesale operations across the UK and Ireland. With a network of hundreds of pharmacy locations and multiple distribution centres, they support millions of patients each year via community services and wholesale supply. Operating within a much larger multinational group, they prioritise clinical excellence, transparency, and long-term partnerships to deliver high-quality care and medicines at scale.

How youll spend your day
As Lead Engineer (Digital Product), reporting to the Head of Product, you will;
Provide hands-on engineering (initially 50/50 split with architectural oversight), shifting to more hands-on as systems stabilise.
Oversee and support multiple engineers across projects, offering both technical guidance and mentorship.
Tackle meaningful challenges including technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and architectural improvements.
Work with a modern tech stack (React Native, JavaScript, Golang, Python) in a dynamic product environment.
Play a key part in evolving development practices and contributing to people leadership as the team grows.

What youll bring to this role
Strong full-stack JavaScript expertise, with solid experience in AWS, CI/CD, and DevOps tooling.
Willingness and ability to quickly learn Golang and support a backend-heavy engineering focus.
Prior experience working across both legacy and modern architectures, with an eye for long-term stability and scalability.
Capability to shift into frontend work (React Native) over time as needed.
Proven ability to mentor developers and eventually manage direct reports as the team expands over time.
A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset to help shape and support high-impact digital health tools.
