Job Title: Lead Clinical Pharmacist – Haematology, Oncology, Palliative Care & Technical Services
Location: Norfolk
Salary: Band 8B
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and motivated pharmacist to join our team as the Lead Clinical Pharmacist for Haematology, Oncology, Palliative Care & Technical Services located in Norfolk.

In this senior Band 8B role, you will lead the clinical and technical pharmacy services for cancer and palliative care services. This is a high-impact leadership position, responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and innovative pharmaceutical care for patients receiving chemotherapy, palliative treatments, and haematology services.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide strategic leadership for pharmacy services in oncology, haematology, and palliative care.

*

Act as Accountable Pharmacist for Technical Services, ensuring Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and clinical compliance.

*

Oversee chemotherapy prescription validation, preparation, release, and safe administration.

*

Lead on the implementation of treatment regimens and protocols using iQemo and Electronic Patient Records (EPR).

*

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and represent pharmacy at cancer networks.

*

Deliver a clinical pharmacy service to inpatient wards, the Chemo Day Unit, Day Treatment Unit, and specialist clinics.

*

Manage and develop pharmacy staff within the Cancer Services and Technical Services team.

*

Drive clinical governance initiatives and review prescribing practices to ensure budget efficiency and patient safety.

*

Act as an Independent Prescriber in oncology or haematology where appropriate.

Requirements:

*

Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).

*

Extensive post-registration clinical experience in oncology, haematology, or palliative care.

*

Strong leadership, communication, and service development skills.

*

Sound knowledge of aseptic services and chemotherapy protocols.

*

Experience managing pharmacy teams and service delivery in a complex clinical environment.

*

Independent Prescriber qualification is desirable.

*

Experience with clinical trials and involvement in audits is advantageous.
