Job Role: Lead Buyer

Job Type: Full Time/Perm

Salary: Flexible dependent on skills and experience

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Lead Buyer to join our specialist and experienced Building Services company providing to the Energy, Food Processing and Pharmaceutical Industry with a unique service. We provide a unique service from concept, advising and partnering with our clients to ensure the correct mechanical and electrical solution bespoke to their needs.

The Role:

  • Work closely with related departments to purchase materials based on operational requirements and specifications.

  • Build scheduling, materials planning, build budget management

  • Ensure all drawings and specifications are correct and sent to the supplier at the time of order placement.

  • Agree on costs, delivery schedules and payment terms.

  • Ensure all documentation is correct and complies with international purchasing and customs regulations.

  • Ensure delivery dates are accurate and any changes are communicated to the relevant stakeholders, follow up with suppliers for issues with late deliveries.

  • Liaise with Finance to assist with any invoicing queries and supplier terms.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, evaluate regular as needed and research new potential suppliers.

  • Provide market updates, for example, price increases, supplier updates and stay informed on market and industry trends.

  • Recognise potential purchasing risks and mitigate where possible.

  • Lead negotiations to ensure efficient workflow and pricing.

  • Provide metrics to key senior management when required.

  • Assist with identifying areas for improvement in an effective way.
