Lab TechnicianLocation: Brixworth, NorthamptonSalary: £24000 -£2520012 month fixed term contractHours:Standard hours are 8:30am-5pm, with an option of 6am-2pm shifts if preferred (this option includes a 5% shift premium)Benefits: Non-contractual Bonus Scheme based on performanceLife Assurance Cover up to 4x annual salaryPension25 day’s holiday and bank holidays plus birthdayOwn Transport RequiredThe job:Supporting Production, the lab technician will be responsible for ensuring all incoming and outgoing raw materials and fragrance batches which will undergo the relevant quality control tests, in order to determine differences in quality, and where necessary, investigate and record non-conformances, as well as to rework raw materials according to specification as and when required.What you will be doing:Smell and release raw materials, fragrance batches and laboratory batches after testing to specificationsAssist production with any queries relating to raw material or production batchesProactive retesting of all batches and materials dueProblem solving and issue of clear rework instructionsAccurately reading and entering all data onto QC SYSTEM with due regard for specificationRecord all non-conformancesObtain specifications from suppliers for raw materials and enter onto databaseKeep QC SYSTEM updated and cleanLiaise with Customer services in the event of delays to batches.Keep workspace clean and tidyIdeal Skills required:Excellent sense of smell and pass the Company smelling assessment testPrevious experience of testing industryExcellent eye for detailThe ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, in a team and as an individual.Good problem solving skillsThe ability to accurately record all dataGood time Management, flexibility required to cover shiftsGood communication ability at all levelsThis job is not a Skills Shortage Occupation in the UK and does not qualify for a Visa Sponsorship.All Applicants must therefore already hold a document that allows the Right to Work in the UK
