The Position

Field Service Engineer - Laboratory Support Coordinator - Core Skill - Electro-Mechanical Engineer

Location:Dorset/Hampshire area, UKSalary:Competitive + excellent benefitsType:Permanent, Field-based

Key Information

  • Supporting NHS region South 6, covering 7 hospitals across Dorset, Hampshire, and Wiltshire
  • Ideal for experienced field engineers, with strong diagnostic service/support background
  • Primary focus on electro-mechanical engineering, with additional responsibilities in applications support, IT support, and training
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Dorset/Hampshire area


About The Role
Roche Diagnostics is seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Laboratory Support Coordinator. This challenging role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on patient care through high-quality support of hospital pathology services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide frontline support across various analytical systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues
  • Minimise unplanned downtime of laboratory equipment
  • Deliver applications and IT support
  • Conduct training for laboratory staff


Required Qualifications And Skills

  • Degree, HNC/HND in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent demonstrable experience
  • Thorough, up-to-date understanding of the IVD industry
  • Solid experience in implementing best-in-class support
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Resilient and tenacious, able to thrive under pressure
  • Growth mindset with ability to use agile techniques
