Job Title: Science Lab Technician 
Pay Rate: £100-115 per day (Based on experience) 

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Science Laboratory Technician to join a prestigious educational institution in the Rhondda Cynon Taf area. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the science department by maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing materials for experiments, and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the laboratory environment. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 

Prepare laboratory equipment and materials for science experiments and demonstrations.  Assist teachers and students during laboratory sessions, providing technical support and guidance as needed.  Maintain an inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment, ordering replacements as necessary.  Ensure that laboratory equipment is functioning properly and perform basic repairs and maintenance when required.  Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and secure laboratory environment for students and staff.  Keep accurate records of laboratory activities and assist with the organization of laboratory schedules and resources.  Support teachers in the development of laboratory exercises and experiments, providing input and suggestions as needed. 

Qualifications and Skills: 
Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a school or educational institution.  Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures commonly used in science education.  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with teachers and other staff members.  Commitment to promoting a positive and supportive learning environment for students. Working Hours: 
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, following the school's operating hours.  SET Recruitment serves as a provider to all 22 local authorities under the temporary workers and supply teachers’ framework in Wales.
