Who are we?

Clerkenwell Health is a pioneering mental health research organisation specialising in psychedelic-assisted therapy. We conduct innovative, scientifically grounded clinical trials through our integrated Contract Research Organisation (CRO), broad Clinical Research Facility (CRF) network, and Therapist Training Programme. We have also expanded our focus to the treatment of central nervous system (CNS) disorders, in addition to complex mental health conditions.

The Role

We’re looking for a Junior Research Therapist to join our growing therapy team at Clerkenwell Health. You’ll play a critical role in delivering high-quality psychedelic-assisted therapies across a range of cutting-edge clinical trials. Working closely with senior therapists, clinical staff, and trial teams, you’ll contribute to the safe and effective delivery of care and psychological support within an innovative clinical research setting.

You will receive dedicated training and supervision while gaining hands-on experience in the implementation of clinical trial protocols, therapeutic delivery, and clinical research processes. This role is ideal for someone passionate about mental health, who brings clinical experience and a commitment to learning in a dynamic and supportive environment.

What will the role entail?

  • Delivering therapy and psychological support in accordance with trial protocols and treatment manuals using a range of psychedelic substances to treat mental health difficulties
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of research documentation including consent forms, case report forms, and therapy notes
  • Participating in training and supervision activities to ensure consistency and quality across trial sites
  • Contributing to participant recruitment, screening, and session scheduling
  • Engaging in regular reflective practice, supervision, and continuing professional development
  • Collaborating with clinical and research staff to uphold high standards of participant care
  • Ensuring compliance with ICH-GCP guidelines, data protection regulations, and Clerkenwell’s SOPs
  • Maintaining accurate records of therapy sessions, participant progress, and clinical notes
  • Supporting qualitative research activities and assisting with data collection
  • Contributing to the ongoing development of therapy manuals, training materials, and internal processes
  • Participating in audits and inspections, supporting implementation of any quality improvement actions
  • Assisting with training delivery for colleagues, trainees, and support staff where appropriate
  • Adhering to all mandatory training and professional standards as required by Clerkenwell and regulatory bodies

What will you need to succeed?

  • Core professional healthcare qualification (e.g. psychologist, counsellor, therapist, nurse, medical doctor)
  • Registration with a relevant professional healthcare regulatory body
  • Previous experience working in a clinical or clinical research setting is desirable
  • Strong understanding of professional ethics and boundaries within therapeutic contexts
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to engage sensitively with trial participants and multidisciplinary teams
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and other professional IT systems
  • Commitment to learning and professional development, with a proactive and reflective approach

Is this the role for you?

At Clerkenwell Health, our core values are Compassion, Collaboration, Innovation, and Integrity. If you're excited about contributing to pioneering psychedelic and mental health research, and you’re passionate about delivering safe, ethical, and evidence-based therapy — we’d love to hear from you.
