Microbiology Team Leader

ITH Pharma specialises in the provision of Parenteral Nutrition, Chemotherapy and CIVAS. Our team provides flexible services with batch and bespoke items for adults, paediatrics and neonates to both NHS and Private Hospitals. We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Microbiologist to join our team in an aseptic manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will support microbiological testing, environmental monitoring, and compliance with regulatory standards to ensure product safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform environmental monitoring of cleanrooms, including air and surface sampling.

· Identify and report microbiological contamination, assisting in root cause investigations.

· Prepare and maintain microbiological cultures and reference strains.

· Assist in validating sterilization processes, cleaning procedures, and aseptic techniques.

· Document test results accurately and maintain laboratory records in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and regulatory guidelines.

· Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies.

· Support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives in microbiological processes.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and quality assurance, to maintain aseptic standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

· Degree in Microbiology.

· Experience in a microbiology laboratory, preferably in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or aseptic manufacturing environment.

· Knowledge of GMP, regulatory requirements, and microbiological testing techniques.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

· Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable Skills:

· Experience with environmental monitoring programs.

· Familiarity with sterility testing and microbial identification techniques.

· Understanding of risk assessment related to microbiological contamination.
