We are dedicated to ensuring that Veramedders have the very best experience of IT and to this end we are seeking a proactive and strategic IT Manager to join our team.


This is a key role for a hands-on leader who thrives in a collaborative environment. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of our IT infrastructure and support the implementation and maintenance of a wide range of platforms, including Microsoft 365, Microsoft InTune, Azure, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Teams, and various SaaS applications.


Working with our Director of IT, you will:


  • Be a practical individual who is comfortable strategising and dividing their time between project work, support, maintenance and able to work independently and within a small yet highly collaborative support team.
  • Actively encourage teamwork and knowledge sharing to develop both yourself and your colleagues.
  • Be able to step back and see the big picture and get involved in a “technical hands-on” way using your strong, current and broad ranging technical background to guide your instinct.
  • Be keen to use intuition to perform deeper analysis of problems outside of initial skills and knowledge.


Key Responsibilities:


IT Management:

  • Support the IT Director in developing and implementing the Veramed IT strategy and roadmap.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Administer Microsoft 365 and stay updated with new developments and functionalities.
  • Manage IT vendors, including contract negotiations, license management, and account management.


Service Desk Support:

  • Provide general IT support, including Microsoft 365, laptop issues, and password resets.


Project Management:

  • Lead various IT projects based on business needs, such as system integrations, upgrades, migrations, and AI implementations.
  • Support computer system validation activities.


Onboarding & Offboarding:

  • Manage user account lifecycle.
  • Handle laptop logistics, including coordination with Firstbase for non-UK locations.


Information Security:

  • Involved in maintaining controls required by ISO27001.
  • Involved in incident response.
  • Conduct Information Security vendor assessments.
  • Manage regular phishing simulation tests.


Business Development & Account Management:

  • Perform information security assessments of Veramed.
  • Complete questionnaires and participate in client audits and inspections.
  • Provide input for RFIs/RFPs as required.


Training:

  • Develop and provide IT training programs to staff, enhancing overall IT literacy and security awareness.


Person Specification:


  • Proven experience in IT management and strategic planning.
  • Strong hands-on technical skills and willingness to engage in day-to-day IT tasks.
  • Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and new functionalities.
  • Experience with ISO27001 certification and information security management.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead diverse IT projects.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, capable of working with a small team and collaborating across departments.
  • Applicants must be able to occasionally provide out of hours maintenance and support on a ‘best-efforts basis’.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, ISO27001Implementer, Microsoft 365) are a plus.
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Support or similar roles.
